Shlomo Rakib

Cohere Technologies CEO Shlomo Rakib believes the revolutionary performance of 5G technology will be serving consumers and businesses for an entire generation, and achieving the promise of 5G requires innovation across the wireless industry.  To this end, Shlomo leads a team of engineers and wireless industry veterans who are bringing to market the first major change in wireless waveforms in a century.

Shlomo is a prolific inventor and successful serial entrepreneur who has launched multiple high technology companies. He is also a co-founder of Gainspeed, which is focused on boosting the capacity of cable networks.  Before Gainspeed he co-founded Novafora, which developed microprocessors for advanced video applications. Shlomo served as president and CTO of Terayon Communication Systems, which he co-founded in 1993 and had its IPO in 1998. Terayon’s S-CDMA technology, which Shlomo invented, became a critical component of the DOCSIS 2.0 cable data specification used in tens of millions of cable modems worldwide. Terayon was acquired by Motorola, at the time one of the largest worldwide vendors to the cable industry.

Shlomo has been granted more than 50 patents and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Technion University in Israel.

Ronny Hadani

Dr. Ronny Hadani, Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Ronny Hadani is the mathematical visionary who, together with CEO Shlomo Rakib, created Cohere’s groundbreaking Orthogonal Time Frequency and Space (OTFS™) wireless modulation scheme. As CTO, Ronny leads Cohere’s research in reinventing wireless technology for the next generation of wireless consumers.

In addition to his role as Cohere’s chief technologist, Ronny is an academic, serving as an associate professor of mathematics at the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to that, Ronny held an L.E. Dickson Postdoctoral Fellowship of mathematics at the University of Chicago.

Ronny holds an MSc degree in Computer Science from The Weizmann Institute of Science and a Ph.D. in Pure Mathematics from Tel-Aviv University. His expertise is in representation theory and harmonic analysis, with applications to signal processing.

Perry Tanner

Perry Tanner, Executive Vice President of Corporate Development
Perry Tanner serves as Executive Vice President Corporate Development of Cohere Technologies, managing the company’s long-term strategy and overseeing its interest across various wireless applications. He is instrumental for bringing Cohere’s OTFS to market and developing monetization strategies around this novel modulation for backhaul, fixed wireless broadband and 5G uses.

Perry brings more than 20 years of experience successfully establishing strategic direction and providing transformative leadership for businesses addressing global markets. He previously served as Corporate VP of Marketing for Scientific-Atlanta (acquired by Cisco) and VP of Strategic Initiatives and Marketing for EMS Technologies (acquired by Honeywell).

He holds an MBA in Marketing from Mercer University Stetson School of Business & Economics, and a BA in Political Science from Georgia State University.

Roy Shay

Roy Shay, Vice President of Engineering
As Vice President of Engineering, Roy Shay is turning groundbreaking laboratory successes into real products. Roy and his team of engineers are responsible for product design and development, and preparing OTFS technology for manufacturing.

Roy has more than 20 years of product engineering and leadership experience. He was previously the Vice President of Engineering at EFI, an international printing technology company. Prior to that, Roy was Vice President of Advanced Products at CATC (acquired by Teledyne Technologies), and Vice President of engineering at SciNet, a leading provider of application servers.

Roy received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.

Dr. Anton Monk

VP, Strategic Alliances & Standards

Dr. Anton Monk, Vice President of Strategic Alliances and Standards
Bringing a new paradigm in wireless networking to market requires galvanizing support from industry players and standards bodies. Leading these enormous and important endeavors is Dr. Anton Monk, Cohere’s Vice President of Strategic Alliances and Standards.

Anton brings to Cohere more than 25 years of technology and research leadership experience in cable, satellite and wireless networking. Before joining Cohere, he was co-founder and VP engineering and technology of Entropic Communications, a publicly-traded semiconductor company where he was instrumental in architecting, specifying and launching the home networking technology used for multi-room DVR throughout the U.S. The technology was standardized by MoCA, the Multimedia over Coax Alliance, where Dr. Monk also served as CTO.  Anton has also held senior engineering positions at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and innovative companies including Comstream and Conexant.

Anton, the author of 22 patents, holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in communication theory from the University of California at San Diego. He received an MS in Electrical Engineering from Caltech, and a BS in Electrical Engineering, also from UCSD.
